Roger E. Herman is a Strategic Business
Futurist concentrating on workforce and workplace trends.
He is a sought-after professional speaker and media
resource on relevant trends, workforce stability, and
becoming an Employer of ChoiceSM. In 2000,
Successful Meetings Magazine selected him as one of
the country's leading speakers-"worth his fee and
then some."
Roger is author or co-author of ten
other books, including How to Become an Employer of ChoiceSM,
which was runner up for Best Business Book of 2000 in
the Benjamin Franklin Awards Program. Roger serves as
Contributing Editor for workforce and workplace issues
for The Futurist magazine. He has written over 650 articles
and his column appears in a number of trade publications.
With his partner, Joyce Gioia, Roger produces the Herman
Trend Alert, a weekly e-advisory distributed as a public
service.
An active consulting futurist, Roger was
recognized as a Certified Management Consultant by the
Institute of Management Consultants. He was also elected
a Fellow of the Institute, the highest recognition of
peers in the profession. The National Speakers Association
designated Roger as a Certified Speaking Professional.
He is a member of the Association of Professional Futurists,
a Professional Member of the World Future Society, and
the Society for Human Resource Management. In addition,
he is Senior Fellow of The Workforce Stability Institute.
Roger serves as Chief Executive Officer
of The Herman Group, a consultancy he founded in 1980.
Based in Greensboro, North Carolina, the firm has offices
in Melbourne, Australia, and Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Roger is a graduate of Hiram College and
earned his masters from The Ohio State University. He
is currently a member of the Hiram College Board of
Visitors. During the Vietnam era, Roger served as a
Counterintelligence Special Agent for the United States
Army.
